A DUBLIN youth has pleaded not guilty to motor theft and trespassing charges.

The 17-year-old has already been detained in connection with other offences and today he appeared at Dublin's Children's Court to face four more charges.

He is accused of stealing a car, in Santry in north Dublin, on June 17 last year, trespassing and being intoxicated to an extent he was a danger to himself and others, at an apartment building in Ballymun, Dublin on April 28 last, as well as one more charge for a breach of the peace, on a date last month.

Defence solicitor Gareth Noble told Judge Hugh O'Donnell that a hearing date was required and the youth was pleading not guilty to all the charges.

The teenager was ordered to appear again on a date next month for his trial at the Children's Court.
