Youth charged over thefts gets city-centre ban
A YOUTH has been banned from Dublin city centre after being charged over a series of burglaries at Reads bookshop on Nassau Street.
The 17-year-old appeared at the Dublin Children's Court yesterday charged with four counts of trespassing and committing thefts at the shop between July 6 and July 8.
The youth, who lives in north Dublin, "made no reply" when charged, Garda Cathal Feely told Judge John O'Connor.
Judge O'Connor ordered the boy, who has not yet entered a plea, to appear again in September.
The boy was banned, for the duration of the case, from being in the entire Dublin city-centre area, except for court appearances and scheduled meetings with his solicitor.
