Woman on drug charge may be trafficking victim

A 52-YEAR-OLD Vietnamese woman, charged over a seizure of almost €1m worth of cannabis at a suspected grow-house in Dublin, may have been trafficked to Ireland.

The woman was arrested when gardai carried out a search in north Dublin during a series of raids in a nationwide crackdown on crime.

Cannabis believed to be valued at €980,000 was found at a premises on the Lagan Road, in the Dublin Industrial Estate.

Thi Pham, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and having it for the purposes of sale or supply on November 20 and brought before Dublin District Court.

Ms Pham was remanded in custody pending the DPP's directions. Her next hearing will be held on November 29.
