Two men have been remanded in custody after appearing in court today on charges relating to a fire which caused half a million euro worth of damage.

Paul McGinley, (30), Glen Hola, Gortahork, and Owen McFadden, (40), Cavanconor, Falcarragh, each faced ten charges, including nine of criminal damage and one charge of burglary when they appeared at Letterkenny District Court today.

The charges relate to an incident on Rosemount Lane in Letterkenny at 2am last Thursday in which nine cars were destroyed in a fire in an underground car park.

Two business premises were also badly damaged.

Today their solicitor Frank Dorrian said neither of his clients was in a position to make a bail application at this time.

Judge Paul Kelly remanded both men in custody to appear again via video link on October 17.
