Teen accused of stealing bikes given week to show up to court

A YOUTH accused of stealing bicycles from Terenure College and Templeogue Tennis Club in Dublin, has been given one week to turn up to court to face his hearing or he will be arrested.

The 16-year-old allegedly stole a bicycle from the prestigious school on April 30 last and another one form the tennis club on March 29, Dublin Children's Court heard.

Judge William Early was told that the boy was arrested after gardai viewed CCTV footage.

However, the boy, who has skipped court in the past, did not turn up to court today and his lawyer explained that one of his relatives was unwell.

Judge Early adjourned the case for one week but said that a warrant for the teen's arrest will be issued if he does not turn up to court next Friday to enter pleas to the charges.
