* Told gardai she was "balubas" when stopped
A woman who drove the wrong way around a roundabout narrowly avoiding a taxi, told a garda she was "balubas" drunk, a court heard.
Patricia Ferris (45) had two glasses of wine and 10 beers before she got behind the wheel.
Judge Dermot Dempsey fined her €500 and banned her from driving for four years.
The defendant, of Abbeylea Avenue in Swords, was found guilty before Swords District Court of failing to provide a breath sample to gardai.
The court heard a taxi driver narrowly avoided a crash after Ferris drove on the wrong side of a roundabout at Naul Road, Balbriggan on April 21, 2013.
Garda Peter Hughes said Ferris told him "sure I'm balubas" and I "could have killed him".
She tried but couldn't provide a breath sample.
