Successful dentist up in court accused of vicious attack on former wife
This is the top dentist who has been accused of a vicious attack on his former wife.
Ian Crutchley runs well known dental surgeries based in south Belfast and Downpatrick, Co Down.
The 53-year-old has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on his then wife, Bronagh Crutchley.
He is due to appear at Laganside Magistrates’ Court this week accused of committing the GBH offence back in August 28, 2002.
It is understood the couple, who have three grown-up children, have been divorced for several years.
Ian Crutchley from Dromore, Co Down has re-married and has enjoyed a successful career in dentistry.
He is principal dentist/clinical director at Fifteen Dental practices and divides his time between his Belfast and Downpatrick clinics.
After qualifying from Queen’s University in 1987, he became an associate in Downpatrick before taking a top job at local practice Downe in the Mouth in 1993.
The practice now known as Fifteen Dental has grown considerably and boasts an extensive patient list.
Fifteen Dental Downpatrick and Lisburn Road have received a number of industry awards since Crutchley took over as the sole principal dentist a number of years ago.
According to his surgery’s website, Crutchley “enjoys nothing more than having friends over for dinner and cooking for them”.
On the website he cites one of his recent highlights as a day spent cooking at Raymond Blanc’s restaurant exclusive Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons in Oxford.
A one night stay at the plush country house, which was last week rated the UK’s best hotel, will set you back £1,000.
The dentist is a self-proclaimed admirer of UKIP leader Nigel Farage and describes his own Twitter page as a “heady mix of sarcasm, inappropriateness, political musings, right wing leanings with a left wing bent, random nonsense, anal attention to grammar, & dentistry.”
He claims his ultimate goal is “to treat patients to the best of my ability, and create beautiful faces and profiles”.
Ian Crutchley is scheduled to make a first appearance on the GBH charge at Laganside Courthouse on Thursday.
