A father of one will go on trial next year, charged with murdering an English motorist, who died after an alleged roadside attack.
Karl Donohoe (29) of Fishermans Wharf, Ringsend, Dublin, is charged at the Central Criminal Court with the murder of Raymond Bates (49) on September 30 in Sandymount, Dublin. The father of three from Durham sustained serious head injuries in an incident four days earlier at the junction of Sandymount Road, Newbridge Avenue and Tritonville Road.
He went to St Vincent's Hospital the following day after becoming unwell, and was transferred to Beaumont Hospital where he fell into a coma and died.
Mr Donohoe was remanded on continuing bail until his trial on February 20, 2012.
