A RESTAURANT worker caught with an estimated €1,500 worth of cannabis, was growing the drug in his back garden, a court has heard.

Jakob Javora (24) had bought the packet of cannabis seeds in Dublin city centre for €20.

Judge Bridget Reilly adjourned the matter for eight weeks.

She said she would leave Javora without a conviction if he donates €800 to charity.

The defendant admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to possession of cannabis at Mount Eagle View, Leopards-town on July 20, 2012.
