This is the Airbnb guest who is alleged to have produced a knife and held it to the neck of the homeowner's father following a row.

Danilo Viera (29) is also accused of threatening to kill the injured party, who is elderly and has a heart condition.

Brazilian Mr Viera only arrived here in June with plans to study English for six months.

He was previously granted bail after he gave an undertaking to stay away from the alleged victim.

Judge David McHugh adjourned the case to next month for the DPP's directions on the charge. Blanchardstown District Court heard Mr Viera is facing the possibility of further charges.

The accused, of Skelligs Court in Blanchardstown, is charged with producing a knife during the course of a dispute. The incident allegedly took place at The Boulevard, Mount Garrett, Tyrrelstown, on June 26.

Sergeant Geraldine McManigan previously told the court the victim went to his son's home, which is let via Airbnb.

It is alleged the accused damaged property with his suitcase as he left. Sgt McManigan claimed there was an altercation and Mr Viera produced a knife. The sergeant alleged Mr Viera held the knife very close to the victim's neck and threatened to kill him. Judge McHugh refused jurisdiction to deal with the case in the district court.

Mr Viera has not yet indicated a plea to the charges.
