Motorist faces trial for death of newlywed

A WOMAN has been returned for trial charged in connection with a fatal road crash last year.

Elizabeth Lawal (35), of Aston Village, Drogheda, Co Louth, appeared at Drogheda District Court charged with dangerous driving causing death at Termonfeckin Road, Drogheda, on September 11, 2011.

Emily Maguire (27) was killed in a three-car collision the day before she had been due to fly home to California with her American husband.

The couple, who had wed in a civil ceremony in the US, had been home on holiday for a church blessing in Emily's native Termonfeckin.

Judge Flann Brennan remanded the accused on bail to appear before Dundalk Circuit Court on January 14.
