Man denies murder as jury sworn in

A JURY has been sworn in for the trial of a 33-year-old accused of murdering a man in Co. Clare two years ago.

Joe Heffernan of Cappagh Beg, Barefield, Ennis has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to murdering Eoin Ryan (21) at that address on June 7, 2011.

The trial will begin on Wednesday before a jury with Mr Justice Paul Carney presiding and is expected to last up to six days.
