Man admits to killing teen (18) on way home

A MAN accused of murdering a teenager in Dundalk two years ago will be sentenced in December.

Douglas Ward (36), with an address at Loughantarve, Knockbridge, Co Louth, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Niall Dorr (18), but not guilty to murder.

His plea was accepted at the Central Criminal Court.

Mr Dorr died after he was attacked while walking home with friends at Castle Road, Dundalk, on the night of October 14, 2010.

Ward has been remanded in custody until he is sentenced on December 17.

Mr Justice Paul Carney directed that the court be furnished with a victim impact report on the day of the sentencing.
