A MAN accused of the double murder of a mother and daughter has been served with the book of evidence.

Aurimas Andruska (26) of Ardmoneil Heights, Killorglin, Co Kerry was brought before Kenmare District Court this morning where he was sent forward for trial to the present sitting of the Central Criminal Court.

He is accused of murdering Jolanta Lubiene and her eight-year-old daughter Enrika at their rented home at Langford Downs, Killorglin, Co Kerry on June 15.

Ms Lubiene's sister Kristina Kuleviciene was in court for the hearing, accompanied by a member of the gardai.

Judge James O'Connor granted the accused free legal aid for a senior counsel and a junior counsel on each of the two charges.

He also accepted an application from solicitor Michael O'Donnell for the book of evidence to be translated into Lithuanian and for photographs that appear in black and white in the book to be furnished in colour.
