A TATOOIST convicted of sexually assaulting two teenage girls and the sexual exploitation of two teenage boys has been jailed for 12 months.

Joe Gamble (54) of Castlepark, Upper Park Road, Killarney, Co Kerry, was sentenced to four years in total at Tralee Circuit Criminal Court but Judge Carroll Moran suspended the final three years.

Gamble's teenage victims were aged between 13 and 15 at the time the offences occurred at his home between 2009 and 2011.

One of his female victims, who was 14 at the time, had passed out at his home after consuming alcohol he had given her.

The other female victim claimed he had grabbed her by the breast and called her inappropriate nicknames of a sexual nature.

The boys were both aged 13 when he invited them to view "hard pornography" he had been watching on his computer.

He was convicted in November by a majority jury following a seven-day trial.

The jury failed to reach a verdict on six other charges and prosecuting barrister Tom Rice said the State would not be prosecuting on these counts.
