THE Lithuanian man accused of the double murder of Jolanta Lubiene and her daughter Enrika has been further remanded in custody to appear again before Cork District Court.

Aurimas Andruska (26) appeared before Tralee District Court yesterday where an application was made to have him remanded in custody to appear in Cork District Court on July 18.

Mr Andruska of 7 Ard Moneil Heights, Killorglin, Co Kerry, has been in custody in Cork Prison since he was charged with murder on June 28.

Supt Jim O'Connor said a video link from the prison would probably be utilised and there were no facilities in Tralee to do this.

He said the case would be ongoing and would not be advanced for some time and the application would save having to transport the accused from Cork to Kerry for every court appearance.

Mr Andruska's solicitor had no objection.

Mr Andruska is charged with the murders of Ms Lubiene (27) and her daughter Enrika (8) at their home in Langford Downs in Killorglin, Co Kerry, on June 15.

The tragic mother and daughter were laid to rest in their native Lithuania on Monday, one week before they had been due to return home to begin a new life.
