Man (20) in court after alleged abduction that saw boy found in boot of car
A 20 year old Finglas man has appeared in court on a dangerous driving charge after an alleged abduction in the north Dublin suburb.
Shane Daly, from Hazelcroft Park, appeared before a sitting of Blanchardstown district court this morning.
He was arrested after gardai followed a car to the Kippure Park estate st 7.30pm.
The car was abandoned and a 14 year old boy was found in the boot.
Daly was arrested near the scene and taken to Finglas garda station for questioning.
He was charged with dangerous driving at Kippure Park on yesterday’s date before judge David McHugh.
Sgt Ger McManigan said there was no garda objection to bail on condition the accused reside at his home address, sign on three times a week at Finglas garda station, and obey a curfew from 11pm to 6am.
She also said that possible further charges were pending.
There was an objection to free legal aid, a matter which will be outlined at Daly’s next court appearance on July 2.
Daly, wearing dark shorts and a grey hoodie, sat quietly in the court during the hearing.
