Jury sworn in for murder trial

A 19-YEAR-OLD is to go on trial today for the murder of two Polish men he has already admitted killing.

David Curran of Lissadel Green, Drimnagh, Dublin, pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to the manslaughter of Pawel Kalite (29) and Marius Szwajkos (27) on February 23, 2008, on Benbulben Road in Drimnagh.

However, the State has not accepted his plea and a jury has been sworn in at the Central Criminal Court to try him for the men's murders.

His co-accused, Sean Keogh (21), of Vincent Street West, Inchicore, Dublin, pleaded not guilty to the double-murder.

The trial before Mr Justice Liam McKechnie was due to begin yesterday but has been adjourned until this morning.

The five women and seven men of the jury were told it could last up to three weeks.
