Protesters who oppose home repossessions were removed from a Mayo courthouse this morning after they interrupted cases being heard by Registrar Fintan Murphy.

Two men were separately removed from the Castlebar court by gardai when they attempted to stop proceedings.

Gardai repeatedly requested the men to desist from the protest but both refused.

Registrar Fintan Murphy was forced to rise briefly shortly after cases got underway this morning after the men stood and objected to proceedings.

They accused the Registrar of a serious conflict of interest and demanded all cases be stopped.

When they failed to follow the directions of gardai to cease the interruptions the men were separately escorted from the court by gardai.

Mr Murphy apologised to people who had cases before the court for the interruption adding that the incidents were adding to the stress they were already under.

The cases are continuing this morning.
