Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned

HE was her John Travolta and their teenage love blossomed quickly.

It was a passionate and fiery relationship. But since the day they married in the summer of 1990, to the outside world, it appeared that Mr and Mrs Forsey were living the dream.

Jenny Power, now 42, first set eyes on her childhood sweetheart, Fred Forsey (43), when the pair were at school.

She was known as one of the "best looking girls in town", while Forsey compared himself to Travolta.

Soon after the wedding, their daughter was born, and then two sons, one of whom has special needs.

Jenny was struggling to feed her children when Fred Forsey took €60,000 from a developer.

She spent thousands on carpets, bedroom furniture and a new fireplace for their modest three-bed semi.

The money was running out and while the couple remortgaged the house to obtain over €33,000 things were not looking good.

Jenny was furious when she found out about the affair.

She ended up under the care of a doctor after the split. She was so upset one day that she crashed her car into the wall of her ex-husband's rented house. She said she hadn't realise the car was in reverse but she agreed "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".

She insisted, under oath, that she didn't report her ex-husband to gardai out of "revenge".

Jenny appeared in court the day after Forsey called her a liar. She watched his evidence but did not hear the verdict.
