Gang mugging girl is remanded

Tom Tuite

A 15-YEAR-OLD girl accused of taking part in a gang mugging in Dublin city-centre has been ordered to appear again in court next month.

The south Dublin girl and her alleged accomplices had been charged earlier over a robbery of a mobile phone and E40 from a man, at Great Strand Street, on September 21 last.

The girl appeared today at the Dublin Children's Court for a check on her compliance with bail terms set earlier. She has been ordered to obey a curfew, sign-on at her local garda station, stay out of the city-centre and to “have not contact of any kind” with her co-defendants.

The girl, who was accompanied by her father, has not yet entered a plea to the charge. Judge Walsh adjourned her case to allow it to join up with her co-defendants' appearance at the same court next month.
