A father and son appeared in court in relation to an aggravated burglary which resulted in two victims being hospitalised.

Two men living at a house at Highfield Grove in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, suffered injuries during a break-in which occurred at their home at about 3am on Sunday.

Robert Devine (41) and his son Lee Kelly (18), both of Brook Crescent, Clonmel, were arrested at 11am on Sunday by gardaí investigating the incident.

The two men appeared before yesterday's sitting of Clonmel District Court to face charges of aggravated burglary.
