Extradited €2m tiger kidnap suspect in court
A man wanted by gardai in connection with a €2.28m tiger kidnapping seven years ago is to appear at Dublin District Court this morning.
The suspect was arrested by police in the Netherlands on an European arrest warrant and extradited last night.
He is alleged by gardai to have been part of the gang that held Securicor employee Paul Richardson, his wife and two sons hostage in Raheny, Dublin, during a robbery in March 2005.
Three men were jailed for 25 years in 2009 for their part in the robbery.
However, the men's convictions were later overturned following a Supreme Court ruling that search warrants used in the investigation into their arrests were unconstitutional.
