Dublin couple allow for home to be given back to bank
A COUNTY Dublin couple have consented to their four-bedroomed semi-detached home being given back to their bank, a court was told today.
Tony Reynolds, solicitor for Dermot and Yvonne Murphy, 3 Golf links Road, Skerries, told Judge Jacqueline Linnane in the Circuit Civil Court that the couple would prefer the property be sold to reduce their debt to EBS Bank.
A representative of O’Connor Solicitors for EBS told the court the bank was seeking a possession order by consent for a part of the property surrounded in red rather than the whole of the land folio.
Judge Linnane granted a consent order for possession of the area marked in red which she said constituted a big part of the property which has a large rear garden.
The four-bed semi with parking for several cars on a tiled forecourt is on the market with an asking price of €320,000.
The court heard that the house was bought on a March 2002 mortgage loan of €228,550 with a subsequent loan of €14,000 in 2005 and €12,000 in 2008 all of which had fallen into arrears.
