Drugs worth €370k seized in separate operations at Dublin Airport
OFFICERS from Revenue’s Customs Service seized drugs with a total street value of €370,000 over the weekend at Dublin Airport.
In an intelligence led operation on Friday a man was detained and found to have ingested 0.5 kgs of cocaine in pellet form with a street value of €35,000. The 34 year-old UK national had arrived on a flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
He appeared at the Criminal Courts of Justice yesterday before Judge Patrick Clyne where he was remanded in custody to appear again in one week.
In a joint operation with the Garda National Immigration unit yesterday, officers discovered 16.76kgs of herbal cannabis with a street value of €335,000 in the baggage of a 42 year old South African national who had arrived on a flight from Johannesburg.
The man appeared in court today where Judge Patricia McNamara remanded him in custody to appear again at Cloverhill Court in one week.
