Doctor: No medical reason why John Dundon cannot stand trial
A DOCTOR has said there is no medical reason John Dundon cannot stand trial for the murder of rugby player Shane Geoghegan.
The medic was giving evidence today as Dundon's trial was due to get underway following several delays.
The Special Criminal Court also heard that the lives of the three people were under threat.
Counsel for the State Tom O'Connell SC said that on the evidence of Detective Sergeant Denis Treacy, there is a threat to the lives of April and Lisa Collins, and a third person- Christopher McCarthy.
The court was to decide today whether the trial should go forward, after Dundon engaged a new legal team to represent him.
