THE daughter and son-in-law of an elderly couple who went missing from Mansfield, UK, in 1998, and whose bodies were found buried in their garden, have been charged with murder.

Susan Patricia Edwards (55) and Christopher John Edwards (57) have each been charged with two counts of murder in relation to the deaths of William and Patricia Wycherley.

Nottinghamshire Police said remains found buried in the garden of a house in Blenheim Close in Forest Town, Mansfield, are believed to be those of the couple. Post-mortem results revealed they both died as a result of being shot.

Mr and Mrs Wycherley's daughter Susan and her husband Christopher, both of no fixed address, were arrested at St Pancras International railway station in London on Wednesday evening on suspicion of the murders. Officers made the grim discovery at the house in on October 9 following a tip-off to police. A murder inquiry was then launched.
