A company wants to halt an RTÉ television report on the rented accommodation sector.

High Court action has been taken by the Green Effect Technology Ltd, trading as Global Academics, and directors Jason Orr and Joshua Cantwell, in relation to 'Prime Time'.

It relates to a premises at Old Kilmainham Road, Dublin, used as an office and temporary accommodation.

Last August, Dublin City Council sent a letter warning of unauthorised development. The building was vacated by October 11. The company said it has tried to engage with the various authorities.

However, the company said RTÉ has alleged there have been multiple breaches of fire safety and building regulations.

It wants an injunction restraining RTÉ, and journalist Barry O'Kelly, from broadcasting or publishing until all investigations have been concluded.

It came before Mr Justice Paul Gilligan, who granted permission to serve short notice of proceedings, and adjourned to today.
