Chinese man denies murdering Dubliner in city-centre cafe

A 36-year-old Chinese man has denied murdering a 40-year-old Dublin man in a city-centre internet café last year.

Zhen Dong Zhao of Jervis Street in Dublin was before the Central Criminal Court today charged with murdering Noel Fegan. The deceased was originally from Finglas, but had been living in Aughrim Street in the city.

The accused pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Fegan on May 20, 2011, at e-Times internet café on Wellington Quay.

Mr Justice Paul Carney swore in a jury of eight men and four women to hear the trial, which gets under way tomorrow and is expected to last two weeks.
