Carrey to use Cathriona's medical records in legal case
Hollywood star Jim Carrey's legal team has won a bid to get his ex-girlfriend's medical records so they can be used in the wrongful death lawsuit against him.
The actor is being sued by the mother and estranged husband of Tipperary-born make-up artist Cathriona White (30), who took her own life in September 2015.
Ms White, from Cappawhite, took a fatal overdose of prescription drugs.
She had been in a relationship with 55-year-old Carrey but it is understood the couple had broken up shortly before her death.
Ms White's mother Brigid Sweetman and her husband Mark Burton have filed a wrongful death suit against the Canadian actor.
Lawyers for the pair claim the actor used his "wealth, influence and celebrity status" to provide the medication.
Raymond Boucher, for Carrey, argued Ms White had recently had breast augmentation and had been prescribed medication that could have been responsible for her death.
