Bank will fight protection for famous pub
BANK of Scotland is to challenge the appointment of an examiner to a famed Dublin city centre bar and restaurant.
At the High Court on Saturday, Mr Justice Gerard Hogan appointed an interim examiner to Belohn Ltd, which owns and operates Foley's Bar and the O'Reilly Bar in Merrion Row.
The appointment was made after the judge was presented with a report saying the business had a reasonable prospect of survival if an arrangement could be agreed with creditors. Bank of Scotland, who are owed €4m, are the biggest creditors.
Lawyers for the bank said yesterday it intends to oppose the company's application for protection from its creditors.
Following submissions, Mr Justice Hogan agreed to adjourn the matter to Thursday.
