Court hears Fallon & Byrne business is insolvent, has €1.4m tax bill

DUBLIN food business Fallon & Byrne, which has a gourmet restaurant and food hall on Exchequer Street, is insolvent and has a €1.4m tax bill it cannot pay, the High Court heard today.

The court granted the company protection from its creditors by appointing Neil Hughes, of accountancy firm Hughes Blake, as examiner who will run the business as a going concern.



The court also heard Fallon & Byrne has sales of over €8m per annum.



Fallon & Byrne was established in 2006.
