County honour for Olympic team manager

IRELAND'S Olympic team manager is to be honoured with the freedom of his native county. Patsy McGonagle (pictured) has mentored the team at the last three Olympic Games.

Donegal mayor Frank McBrearty said: "Patsy has dedicated more than 40 years to athletics and sport both in the county and nationally and we believe it's time he was honoured for that."

Mr McGonagle will be given the honour in the new year.
