PAST pupils and teachers from Ireland's first-ever co-ed school are invited to a reunion marking its 70th anniversary next month.
The Rosary High School in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, was founded in 1942 by former teacher Kathleen Lynch who set up the original boys school in a house catering for just 12 pupils.
It became the first co-educational school in Ireland three years later before it finally closed its doors in 1971.
Mrs Lynch will be celebrated along with the achievements of the school's 790 past pupils at a reunion ceremony at the Bush Hotel on December 7 in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Anyone interested in the reunion can register for it at firstname.lastname@example.org or 086 2550710.
