Well-known trad musician Fergal Ó Murchú has revealed his delight after his son, who underwent three major heart operations before he turned two years of age, received the all-clear from medics.
Cormac endured his first heart operation to unblock his aorta at just three months of age.
Two more open-heart surgeries were to follow to repair faulty heart valves and remove scar tissue but thankfully, Cormac, who turned two last April, has been given the all-clear.
The founder of Ragus, Ireland's only full-live dance show, and his wife Amanda Davey have been through a tough few years watching their little son.
Fergal said: "Cormac had a tough start in life. We're very relieved to be this side of an ordeal that started when he was just three months old.
"Now he's doing great and doing what all toddlers do - causing destruction."
The couple were delighted to be able to bring Cormac home from Our Lady's Hospital in Crumlin to Mayo, to join his older sister Arianna.
