Cork crash survivor is released from hospital
A FATHER-OF-THREE who cheated death in the Cork Airport disaster has been released from hospital.
Mark Dickens (40), from Kent in England, was discharged from Cork University Hospital (CUH) yesterday and will return to the UK with his wife, Tara, to be reunited with his three young children.
Mr Dickens is the first of the four passengers who suffered serious injuries in the crash on February 10 to be discharged from hospital.
Three other passengers -- Heather Elliot, Brendan Mallon and Peter Cowley -- are expected to be discharged by early March.
Six people died when the Manx2.com aircraft crashed at Cork Airport as it made its third landing attempt in dense fog.
Mr Dickens had been travelling to Cork for a business meeting. In an interview before his release from CUH, he admitted that all he could think about was being reunited with his young children.
