Gardaí have appealed for help in locating a man who went missing after traveling to Galway for Rag week.

Jason McNulty (25) from Swinford in Co Mayo was last seen at 6am on Wednesday leaving the Connacht Hotel in Renmore.

He is described as being six foot tall, with dark hair and green eyes. When last seen he was wearing a dark red T-shirt and blue jeans

A native of Swinford Co Mayo, Jason has been living in Castlebar in recent times, but came to Galway earlier this week.

Concerned family and friends of the young man have launched appeals on Facebook and Twitter, asking people to help find him.

"Missing in Galway: Jason has been missing since very early hours of Wednesday morning approx 6am in Galway, last seen leaving Connacht Hotel.

"He has no phone. No one has heard from him or seen him if anyone knows whereabouts he could be or has any ideas where were could look please let us know," one message said.

Friends say it is completely out of character for Jason to leave without saying goodbye.
