Complaints over TV advert for car rejected
COMPLAINTS were lodged with the standards watchdog over an advertisement for Hyundai Cars.
The television advert, created by Havas Worldwide Dublin, rankled some viewers when it depicted a father trying to put out a burning tent on a camping trip with his children, urging them: "Don't Tell Mom."
Viewers complained to the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI) that it was "inappropriate" to encourage children to keep information from their parents.
The advertisers stated it had aired globally and no complaints had been recorded elsewhere. They stated it had been adult focused and viewers would be aware it was an "innocent pact".
The ASAI confirmed that the complaints were not upheld.
