Commuters warned of heavy traffic after four collisions as schools re-open after summer break

Motorists are warned to expect some delays this morning as some schools re-open after the summer break.

AA Roadwatch is reporting a collision on the M50 southbound before Junction 7 at Lucan.

There is a breakdown on the M50 Southbound at Junction 6 Blanchardstown in the right lane.

Traffic is also slow at Junction 9 Red Cow and again from Junction 11 Tallaght to Junction 12 at Firhouse.

Meanwhile AA Roadwatch is reporting delays on the M50 northbound.

A breakdown has been cleared from Junction 13 at Sandyford and drivers are warned to expect delays.

Traffic is busy this morning on the Swords Road from Whitehall Flyover to Collins Ave.

In the city centre, traffic is slow along the North Quays from Arran Quay to Bachelors Walk.

Motorists are warned to take caution as emergency services are dealing with a crash on East Wall Road outbound before East Road junction blocking both lanes.

Traffic is also building from the Malahide Road junction in Fairview through to the Five Lamps on Amiens Street.

AA Roadwatch is advising motorists to take care on the N2 Dublin to Monaghan road as there are reports of a man walking near Knockharley between Slane and Ashbourne.

There is also a collision on the Stillorgan Road inbound before Trees Road. Take care on approach.

A fourth collision is being reported this morning on the Ninth Lock Road at Cappaghmore Estate in Clondalkin.
