Traffic backlog from road collisions will add approximately 30 minutes to this morning's commute, AA roadwatch have warned.

Several incidents on Irish roads this morning have resulted in significant delays for commuters - but no fatalities have been reported.

Emergency services were at the scene of a collision on the off-ramp from the M50 northbound to the N4 earlier today.

The incident caused a traffic backlog that is partially blocking the left lane of the motorway.

Elsewhere, gardai responded to a crash inbound on the M4 Sligo/Dublin Road at Junction 5, Leixlip.

There has also been a collision on Pearse Street after the junction of Macken Street blocking outbound traffic.

Commuters have been told to expect significant delays.

Earlier, AA roadwatch warned motorists to be careful on the wet roads this morning.

“Make sure to reduce your speed and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front,” said the AA website.
