Committee advises sharing of landlord PPS numbers amongst govt. agencies
A report published today by the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee says there is no joined-up thinking by government agencies when it comes to collecting tax from landlords.
The study says the sharing of Landlords PPS numbers with the Private Residential Tenancies Board, the Department of Social Affairs and local Authorities would ensure that all due taxes are paid up.
It's estimated the State could be losing out by as much as ?200 million per year.
