Colourful beach range is all the rage

DEPARTMENT store Debenhams unveiled a new beach range inspired by a bygone era of Mediterranean glamour, but Sarah Morrissey, pictured, wasn't transported to Capri or St Tropez for the shoot.

Instead, she was in a vintage airstream caravan on the roof of the Morgan Hotel in Dublin's Temple Bar.

Designer Janet Reger was famous for her luxury lingerie and now her daughter Aliza runs the Reger brand.

Prices and sizes for the Reger by Janet Reger range from €25 to €70, with bikini tops from 32A to 38A and briefs in sizes 8 to 18.

This summer's trends are full of contradictions – ultra-plunging necklines and briefs that have skirts.

Aliza Reger insists that colour is very important when it comes to beach wear, and colours that might look good with a fully dressed and made-up face don't necessarily work on the beach.

She recommends that Irish skin tones should avoid reds in swimwear – unless you are a 'Baywatch' babe – and everyone should avoid 'non-beach' colours such as certain shades of green or brown, beige, mustard or grey.
