Collins reveals anger at 'horseplay' remark
FINE GAEL TD Aine Collins has expressed her anger at the incident where she was pulled onto the lap of a party colleague being described as "horseplay".
Ms Collins, left, was grabbed by fellow Cork TD Tom Barry in the Dail.
"I would hate for this to be seen as a typical day's work, because it's not," she said. "I mean, to be honest, we are all very busy doing the jobs we were elected to do and this is very, very untypical behaviour. In fact, I have never seen it happen before and I hope we will never see it happen again.
"But I would hate for it to deter, in particular women, who are thinking about entering politics."
The Cork North-West TD said she was not happy a party spokesman described the incident as "horseplay".
"No, I wasn't and that was withdrawn, as you know, very shortly after it had been issued," she said.
"It just happened very quickly. And you know it was very disrespectful, it was very inappropriate," she added.
