Co Meath arrests over tiger kidnap

A man and woman aged in their late 20s have been arrested over the tiger kidnapping of a bank worker's wife.

The couple were detained in the Navan area of Co Meath over a €300,000 theft from the AIB in Clondalkin, west Dublin, almost a fortnight ago.

Three men took the employee's wife from her home in Terenure while her husband was ordered to carry out the theft at his branch.

She was freed at a quarry in Wicklow after the cash was dropped off.

A garda spokesman said the couple were arrested at about 7am on Wednesday and are being held at Terenure Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act. They can be questioned for one week.
