Clocks to go back an hour and the nights to get longer

MOTORISTS have been warned to be extra vigilant on the roads over the bank holiday weekend, with clocks going back.

The clocks go back one hour at 2am on Sunday.

Gardaí are urging people to take care on the roads as the colder and darker weather draws in, extending the warning to pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists as well as motorists.

Drivers to adjust their speed to drive at an appropriate safe speed for all the conditions around them. They also said pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists should wear hi-viz clothing since it makes a “massive difference” in terms of visibility on dark and poorly lit roads.
