Cleric faces axe from radio show

A RADIO station will decide today whether a senior cleric at the centre of the Cloyne clerical child abuse controversy will be able to present his usual slot on a Sunday programme.

Monsignor Denis O'Callaghan (80) was heavily criticised in the Cloyne Report for not following strict guidelines in reporting complaints of clerical child abuse to gardai and the Health Service Executive.

He presents a slot on a Sunday morning radio show on C103FM/County Sound and writes a regular column for 'The Corkman' newspaper.
