City of future will have giant 'mood screens'
IMAGINE a world where the mood of a city is displayed on giant screens using social media to reflect what people are feeling and thinking.
This world may not be so far away, if the vision of the 'Your Future City' exhibition at Dublin's Mansion House is realised.
Researchers will unveil a 'Pixee Wall' which analyses tweets and Facebook posts, and displays the mood on a screen by posting the words 'angry', 'tired', 'sleepy', 'calm' or 'sad', among others.
It is part of an eye-opening digital showcase which is free to the public and runs next Monday and Tuesday. It will offer a 'window on the future' and will display 20 new technologies, organisers said.
