With Christmas just around the corner, charity radio station Christmas FM has returned to the airwaves to help everyone get into the festive swing of things.

To mark the launch of the station, comedian and actress Deirdre O'Kane joined the High Hopes choir and spoke highly of the station.

Since its inception, Christmas FM has raised more than €850,000 for charities including the ISPCC, Barnardos, Simon, Age Action, and Aware.

This year, the station hopes to raise funds for homeless charity Focus Ireland.

Christmas FM is run by more than 100 volunteers.

Christmas FM will broadcast from the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin.

Family homelessness has increased by 52pc since the start of 2016, with nearly 1,200 families now homeless nationwide.
