All creatures great and small are welcome with their owners at Pets in the City in Dublin later this month.

Jonathan Yorke (11) was on hand with Click the chinchilla to help launch the free family event, which takes place in Smithfield Square on Sunday, May 14, from 11.30am.

The DSPCA will host dog agility workshops and a 'Scruffs Dog Show', where members of the public are invited to enter their own four-legged friends.

Pet-lovers can expect a range of stalls, with treats, accessories and toys, as well as the opportunity to avail of micro-chipping and pet health advice from the DSPCA.

Pets in the City, created by Dublin City Council, the DSPCA and King of Paws, promises to be a "purrfect day out" for the whole family - including the furry members.
