'Child is not safe with Isil bride': Imam
A leading voice in Ireland's Muslim community has said Isil bride Lisa Smith should not escape punishment if she returns home.
Dr Umar Al-Qadri, chair of the Irish Muslim Peace & Integration Council, also said her young daughter should be taken away from her.
He said the former Defence Forces member should be held accountable for her actions.
The mother of one is currently being held at the Al Hawl refugee camp in northern Syria, close to the Iraqi border.
Dr Al-Qadri told RTÉ's Sean O'Rourke that Ms Smith's daughter should be taken away from her.
"I believe the child will not be safe with a mother that holds such radical, extremist views and is OK with the type of horrors that were committed by the Islamic State," he said.
